ComVantage is a middlware for existing business & engineering software including large enterprises, SMEs, and end-customers. ComVantage allows secure collaboration via dynamic, de-centralised access to information and trustful, easy-to-handle collaboration apps for mobile interaction. It provides a sophisticated toolkit for model-driven application design and a comprehensive business evaluation framework ensuring the development of collaboration apps with verified added-value.
The integration of Mobile Information Systems into existing workflows is challenging and needs profound knowledge of the needs and requirements of the target users, their recurring work processes and their specific context of use. Aim of this project is the modeling of work processes in the maintenance domain using a semantic formalisation based on OWL and a graphical modeling tool based on UML.
The design of suitable interaction styles and usable user interfaces for Mobile Information Systems in industrial applications is challenging due to the various constraints of the specific context of use. Aim of this project is the design and evaluation of patterns of interaction and interface design for Mobile Information Systems in industrial applications based on the concept of wearable computing. The InteractBAN project thus strives for simplicity, user-centric design, strong empirical confirmation in industrial settings, and a generalisation of the revealed results.
