Project Overview

The project covers the application of an optical correlator to perform realtime determination of the pointing motion of a space camera using lines sensors.

The aim of the project is to

  • (A) build a hardware laboratory model for
    • proof of concept, i.e. proof of functional system feasibility;
    • performance estimation of the system performances (data processing rate, accuracy, sensitivity to noise and distortions, response time, minimum resolution under disturbing conditions).
  • (B) derive a system specification (1-st Order Model) for a space compatible system.
